Setup Google Ads Tracking – Any Site

This guide is written for custom eCommerce platforms. If your store uses a known eCommerce platform (like Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.), please refer to the platform-specific guide. The most up-to-date instructions can always be found in your StoreYa dashboard.

 

To set up conversion tracking for StoreYa Google Ads, you must install both the Google tag and an Event snippet in your website’s code.

Google Tag

The Google tag helps build your basic remarketing lists and sets cookies on your domain to store information about the ad click that brought a user to your site. This tag must be added to every page of your website.

Instructions:
Copy the first tag provided by StoreYa and paste it between the <head></head> tags on every page of your website.

 

Event Snippet (Conversion Tag)

The event snippet works in conjunction with the Google tag to track conversions.

Instructions:
Add the second code snippet to the page a customer lands on after completing a purchase (typically the thank you or confirmation page).

To Use the Snippet:

  1. Copy the second tag you received from StoreYa.

  2. Replace the placeholders REPLACE_WITH_ORDER_ID and REPLACE_WITH_ORDER_VALUE with dynamic values from your e-commerce platform to reflect the actual order ID and value.

  3. Paste the snippet between the <head></head> tags of the thank you page.
